There are different options for getting software depending on the software needed and your field of study.
All students, faculty and staff with an activated WUSTL Key can install and activate the Microsoft Office apps on up to five personally-owned devices at no cost. See the Office for Home page to find instructions for your operating system.
The Software Licensing Catalog has a limited number of software programs that are available to students to install on their personally-owned computers. Please check the Catalog before purchasing elsewhere as these may be free or offered at a lower price.
Check with your school or department for additional software provided. Below are some links to school specific software information.
University Libraries offers Geographical Information Systems software for free, ArcGIS and QGIS.
Many web-based applications, like Zoom, Office 365, Box, DocuSign, and LinkedIn Learning, are available to all faculty, staff, and students. Learn more about these in our How To section.
